We’ll be serving up our usual yummy coffee treats at OKK market tomorrow morning (Wednesday) from 8-2pm.
Excited to debut another cold brew recipe! It was such a hit last time, we’re making more and of course, tweaking it a bit, because that’s what I do. 🤓 Come try a free sample and let us know what you think.
I’m also excited to be brewing up our traditional Thanksgiving Turkey brine! I do this every year and love the flavor it infuses into our turkey when it soaks for 2 days. We had some junk oranges on one of our trees that we forgot to water during a dry spell so the peel is awesome but the pulp—not so much. Oops! But paired with our homegrown rosemary, this Pioneer Woman’s recipe is sure to liven up your turkey this year! Stop by our tent from some free oranges and consider trying a new recipe this year. ☺️

Still smiling at the heartwarming gifts and thoughtful encouraging note a customer mailed us after visiting Hawaii and enjoying our coffee. These are some special Pacific Northwest folks, and the books are also PNW themed by a local Oregonian author. My kids are already devouring one as we read aloud the other. Grateful for the exchange of flavors of the land—and pleasantly surprised to hear from yet another customer that our coffee does not upset their stomach like other coffees! I wonder if this is typical of Ka`u coffee in general or some unique aspect of our soil? ... See MoreSee Less

We are always looking for good read aloud books! I will have to check these out 🙂
This week’s premiere of our “Ka’u Extreme” malted milkshake was a smashing success. One of our customers gushed, “It’s the best drink I’ve ever had in my life.” Another said, “It’s like a candy bar in a cup!” Our Ka`u Extreme Maximum Fudge Boar Trax is more than a mouthful, with extra chocolatey coffee malt, extra caramel, layers of crumbled peanut butter cups topped with a mauka of whipped cream and a Mele Mac (toffee coated, chocolate covered macadamia nut). Yum!! ... See MoreSee Less

That's a big name!
We are looking for pickers and farm hands on our small family farm, no experience necessary. $1 per pound or $12 per hour, whichever is greater. $15 per hour with year end profit sharing bonus for farm hand (all that depends on you—how quick you learn, how reliable you are, how clean you pick, etc.). We are a very small business in Naalehu and we want to continue to grow a team who is passionate about people, our community and the highest quality coffee and drinks. Growth potential is huge for the right person. If you’re interested, or know someone, message us! ... See MoreSee Less

Photo 1: Naalehu, my back yard. Fog, rain and more fog! Photo 2: our friends in Oceanview got an AMAZING rainbow surprise!!! 🌈 🤩
So grateful for the gift of rain, though. Got the fertilizing done so all of our coffee and fruit trees are happily well fed and watered now. ☺️

Beautiful rainbow picture.
It’s beginning to get very dry and hot here on the coffee farm, but Tropical Storm Calvin is now here with a tropical sprinkle! Hoping for a few good inches of rain tonight and a low-drama pass over our island. Enjoy the time lapse from earlier this afternoon. ... See MoreSee Less

A 5-tree mango chorus!! Singing sweet notes of future Golden Fla-mango and Two-can-Tango smoothies. 😁 I think I’ve reached my mango cutting max this week with 2 1/2 hours of peeling and slicing, 20 lbs in the freezer (that’s eighty servings, folks) but my trees just keep pumping. So thankful for Costco organic frozen mango throughout the year but the bountiful harvest and the superior flavor these beauties pack into our coffee creations is unparalleled!!!! ...
